TL:DR In my current setup, both my computer and phone are able to connect to the signal of the device but when setting up my phone says "Could not connect" within my Chromecast app and doesn't allow me to do anything else, while my computer gives me no options/cannot see the device using the Google Cast extension. on Chromecast keepsChromecast is configured to communicate using Googles own DNS. Since then I have tried setting it up in another house and I can't even get as far as before, despite factory resetting the thing dozens of times. However, once I get to the final stage of setup with the WiFi password and name (tried it on both tablet setup and PC setup,) it just gives me an error that says 'Cannot communicate with your Chromecast.' Anyone have any idea on how to remedy this Thanks 3 comments 57 Upvoted Sort by: best level 1 8 yr.
